The Hepworth Wakefield is currently closed due to the ongoing situation with Coronavirus, however, its current major exhibition Bill Brandt / Henry Moore can still be enjoyed online! Here you’ll find loads of content to explore including an introduction to the exhibition from curators Martina Droth and Clare Nadal, and an interactive timeline providing detailed insights into the key events that shaped both artists’ lives, such as the Second World War.

The original exhibition brought together over 200 works highlighting the relationships between sculpture, photography, drawing and collage revealed through Brandt and Moore’s shared interests in the themes of labour, society, industry, the British landscape and the human body.  It also includes Moore’s celebrated Reclining Figure sculptures and Brandt’s well-known photographs of coal miners and their families in Durham and Yorkshire, rare original colour transparencies by Brandt, and Moore’s little-known photo collages.
