Big Saturday: The Body Experience at Manchester Museum

Big Saturday : The Body Experience at Manchester Museum, Manchester 18 March 2017 Entrance is free

Manchester Museum’s monthly free Big Saturdays are gifts to all parents everywhere as brilliant ways to immerse yourselves together creatively in a topic which can otherwise seem a bit “schooly”. Lucky for us we have one of the best research universities in the world on our doorsteps and the dynamic team from the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at the University of Manchester will be performing a total museum takeover for one day only this month as part of British Science Week to allow us to immerse ourselves in all things relating to the human body.

There will be interactive stands and missions for all the family – ask all the questions you want and learn about cutting edge research while holding real hearts, testing wee and making your own mucus. We love that the relaxed nature of these events mean you can stay for 5 minutes or 5 hours and provide a supportive environment which is brilliant for boffins, those new to the subjects and all those somewhere inbetween.

We love that the origins of Manchester Museum are so tied up to the development of the world’s first industrial city  and that the museum, like its city continues the thirst for improvement and knowledge in science, arts and culture today.
