The perfect Christmas jaunt for the whole family.

Full of romance and charm, the classic fairytale of Beauty & The Beast – depicting the triumph of love over looks – has fascinated readers and audiences for centuries. In this stage version of the beloved story, Bella and her mother live on their farm in the middle of the countryside, scrimping and saving to make ends meet. Meanwhile, in a nearby forest, there is an awful secret waiting to be discovered – a mysterious curse that has made the land barren.

When Bella is kidnapped by the fearsome Beast, she discovers that he might not be the unkind creature that everybody thinks he is…could he be freed from the evil spell he is under?

Set in the friendly, intimate theatre space at The Dukes – one of the best in-the-round spaces in the North.

Following on from The Dukes’ previous highly acclaimed Christmas shows, Cinderella: A Fairytale and Sleeping Beauty, we’re thrilled that creatives Daniel Bye and Sarah Punshon join forces once again. The production will also welcome the return of designer Katie Scott, composer Ziad Jabero and choreographer Zak Phillips-Yates. The super talented cast sees Ida Regan make her professional stage debut as Bella alongside Andrea Crewe as Mum and Lisa Howard as Gardener. The cast is completed by Tarek Slater as the Beast and Declan Wilson in the role of Lionel.
