Bad Gal Film Festival at Ducie Street Warehouse
Creative Tourist
This International Women’s Day, Ducie Street Warehouse is expanding its partnership with Bad Gal Film Club to present the Bad Gal Film Festival, which stretches right across the month.
Ducie Street Warehouse is one of our favourite spots in the Northern Quarter. As a venue, it has the lot: a bar, a restaurant, an outside terrace, upstairs apartments and – most intriguingly – a cinema.
With 36 seats, this cosy little bolthole is a lovely spot to watch cult classics and attend interesting events from the likes of Pitchblack Playback. In March, it belongs to Bad Gal Film Club, a community-driven initiative dedicated to championing women in cinema, both on and off-screen.

All through Women’s History Month, the Festival will showcase a carefully curated lineup of films alongside interactive workshops, discussions, and special guest appearances. It promises an inclusive and celebratory space for film lovers and emerging creatives alike.
A key highlight of the festival includes an exclusive In Conversation session with film critic and broadcaster Ellen E. Jones, exploring the role of women in cinema. There will also be a collage workshop and social – a creative space inspired by female storytelling in film.
As for the films, the programme taps into a range of indie gems and iconic classics, with a few highlights being Shiva Baby (2020), Matilda (1996), Thelma & Louise (1991), Run Lola Run (1998), All About My Mother (1999) and Hidden Figures (2016).
