Babyface at The Lowry
Kristy Stott, Theatre EditorBabyface is a solo show by Katy Dye – short and unnerving – exploring the infantilisation of women and the fetishisation of youth. Immerse yourself in a world of bunches and knee socks; lollipops and bubblegum, and models adopting the childlike expressions of six-year-old girls.
This is an outlandish and bold performance in which a grown woman attempts to be a baby to discover if innocence really is as sexy as we’re told it is.
Babyface is being performed at The Lowry as part of WTF Wednesday – a new evening of events which celebrate ground-breaking contemporary theatre-makers. This is a ‘Pay What You Decide Event’. You reserve your tickets, turn up on the night and pay as much as you want at the end of the performance.
