Awesome Tapes From Africa AKA Brian Shimkovitz has trodden an intriguing musical path. In 2006, he set up a blog to showcase the wealth of music that enraptured his mind on his travels around Africa. Spotlighting a plethora of artists and genres from all corners of the continent, the blog exploded in popularity, creating demand for Brian to DJ his choice selections around the world. If you’re a fan of world music, then his show at Band on the Wall is an absolute must.
