Athanasia Kontou / Brick Smyth / Dove Ellis at Hallé at St Michael’s, Ancoats 4 April 2025 Tickets from £5.00 — Book now

Art and performance is at its most exciting when two unlikely worlds collide. This is demonstrated deftly by Ivor Novello nominated composer, pianist and stand-up comic Athanasia Kontou. Her European brand of alternative comedy incorporates contemporary song writing as well as moments of stand-up. She will be returning to Manchester from Vienna, to share a new solo show combining virtuosic pianist skills with anecdotal comedy and song.

Joining her in at Hallé St.Michaels will be Brick Smyth, a Northern Irish song writer with infectious charisma, lyrical wit and melodic charm in his performances. They will be preceded by Dove Ellis, a songwriter and pianist who has been gaining attention for their raw performance style and heartfelt compositions.

This is truly an evening where you’ll find yourself touched by the beauty of a song one moment, and filled with belly shaking laughs the next.
