Hosting major exhibitions by artists renowned both locally and internationally, Millennium Gallery is the cultural gateway to Sheffield.

Branching off from the impressive glass dome structure of the Winter Garden (one of the largest temperate glasshouses in the UK), the Millennium Gallery is home to Sheffield’s extensive Ruskin Collection and Metalwork Collection – capturing the Steel City’s industrial heritage in more than 13,000 objects.

Sheffield’s premier destination for art, craft and design, the Millennium Gallery offers an insight into the city’s unique heritage. Check out the metalwork which put Sheffield on the world stage alongside John Ruskin’s celebrated collection of art and objects inspired by the natural world. Alongside the permanent collections, the gallery offers a regularly changing programme of contemporary art and design as well as touring exhibitions from the gallery’s partners, which include Tate, V&A and the National Portrait Gallery. There’s a gift shop and friendly cafe too.

The Millenium Gallery sits conveniently just around the corner from the Graves Gallery; the two galleries complement each other perfectly – pop to one and then the other for a day filled with a few hundred years’ worth of art history. Additionally, take a stroll through the Winter Garden – accessible through the doors at the far end of the gallery – to see a beautiful and colourful array of tropical flora.
